Are you interested in volunteering as a Woodlanders researcher? Listen to volunteers Katie Dean and Susan Holmes talking about their fascinating work investigating the lives of those who worked in Chilterns’ villages and woods in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Recently, Susan has been looking into the history of the women in Holmer Green and Hazelmere who in early twentieth century worked as tambour beaders - sewing beads and sequins onto textiles for the fashion industry. Katie makes a living doing beading today!
